Welcome to our website which is both a record of current work and an archive of many of the projects and researches we have worked on over the past 20 years or so. For us practice is a both a means for informed speculation about the built environment and the vehicle for the realisation of crafted built projects that are not compromised by the contingencies of commercial building and development processes. In an age of ‘cheap’ carbon architecture we look for the longterm, resilient solution with elegance and wit.
Boyarsky Murphy Architects have a reputation for innovative and inspiring design within a wide and international portfolio. Our projects range from individual houses to off-the-grid eco-communities, from sensitive sites and historic buildings to cultural and educational buildings, and multi-story towers.
We develop each project from first principles with conceptual clarity. Our building tools are the sensuous nature of materials, the power of space, the challenges of technology and the magic of light.
We craft environments that are friendly, efficient and aesthetically pleasing. Our projects develop from extensive research into context, site and brief – this groundwork ensures we create unique and inspiring environments.

how we work
Formed in 1994 by Nicholas Boyarsky and Nicola Murphy, our London based practice creates high quality architecture and interior design in the UK and internationally. Boyarsky Murphy Architects are a Chartered RIBA Practice and we offer the full range of architect’s services.
Residential, urban, heritage and cultural projects of any scale are developed by considering the existing building or site, understanding the client’s needs and the functionality of the space. Each brief produces a strategy with a specific design vision. Then the unique language, skills and experience of the practice come into play to create and detail every aspect of the scheme. The result is finely crafted beautiful modern architecture. Sustainability is always considered.
